Located in a two-storey extension in a 1930s Guildford property, our client’s desired the perfect setting for day-to-day life. A colourful contemporary kitchen which suits family life, this modern open space faces a large garden that floods the room with plenty of natural light. ​Creating the ideal sociable setting, a generous island at the heart of the room allows the homeowners to entertain family and friends at the oak breakfast bar. Smart yet informal, the space has a café-like feel to it, aided by the striking patterned flooring that sections the cooking area from the rest of the room. The sleek, handleless cabinetry hand painted in a modern dark grey-blue shade brings drama and depth to the space. Along with the breakfast bar, open wooden shelving on the walls and within the lower cabinetry are paired with oak worktops to add warmth to the dark colour scheme, while the quartz surface on the island helps brighten it up by reflecting light throughout the entire space.
