The Statement Island

A striking balance of light and dark, this well-proportioned Linear kitchen boasts sophistication with its unique style. At the top of the homeowner’s wish list was an abundance of stylish storage to provide soul and personality to their new space. One of our favourite design elements is a place to display all things special, and by double-stacking our glazed cabinetry beneath these high ornate ceilings is the most marvellous feature. The glass fronted doors were chosen to break up the large run of flat-panelled cabinetry, with rich walnut interiors bringing an added layer of warmth to the entire scheme.  Along the edge of the kitchen, an ivory paint colour was used on the cabinetry, walls and glass splashback to reflect all available light and blur the lines between the start and end of the units. Making a real statement, the contrasting dark island topped with luxurious Stromboli granite ensures an elegant blend with the style of the adjoining rooms. Enriched with brass elements not only brings out the shimmers of gold in the granite but provides the perfect finishing touch. For a kitchen on the smaller side, this impressive design bestows a transitional sophistication truly suited to this welcoming home.
